I didn't know that the British attacked Israel after their departure in 48, other than Glubb Pasha's adventuring with the Jordanian army. Thanks for this information.
They didn't attack Israel per se, more like provoked Israel until it blew up in their faces. Israel wouldn't have shot down their planes if it it knew they were British planes.

Isn’t it amazing how what seems like an entity that possesses all the power, all the terror, and all the destructive force can be upended, humiliated, and checked by the weak, the despised, and the ignored? Isn’t it amazing that this happens AGAIN and AGAIN, AND again! in the histories that are written — and in all those big and little episodes we all prefer to NOT SEE?????

Nobody says this will be easy. Nobody claims to know the roadmap.
But there are differences between self defense and retribution. There are differences between retribution and ethnic cleansing. And there are differences between ethnic cleansing and genocide. But what are the differences? Where are the clear demarcations?
* The suffering of innocent Palestinian civilians must be acknowledged — and addressed
* The vulnerabilities of innocent Israelis must be cared for — and protected with firm measures.
* The idea of collective punishment for either Palestinians or Israelis must be firmly and unequivocally rejected. The practices of collective punishment are war crimes. They must be adjudicated, and those responsible must be held accountable.
* The rights of Palestinians and Israelis to be protected by the rule of law must be considered in equally imperative terms.
* Genocidal and eliminationist rhetoric must be rejected and opposed
* The notion that democracy can coexist with demographic/ethnic “supremacy” must be exposed as a lie.
* The idea that human dignity depends on violence and oppression must be exposed as poisonous and deadly to hope and decency.
* The idea that violence and oppression will guarantee civilian security must be revealed as a deadly contradiction.
Great powers are great until they aren’t.
Violent oppressors terrorize until they don’t.
Fear impresses until it doesn’t.
Every tyrant, every abuser, and ever murderer feverishly hopes their comeuppance is deferred until their flesh has melted, crumbled, rotted, or burned from their bones.

At least 2 Israeli Arabs have reached the rank of Major General in the IDF, Israeli Arabs are represented in the Knesset not only in their own parties (9 out of 120 seats) but also as MKs of every major party, including Likud, other than the religious ones.
As you don't know, an Israeli Arab, Dr Samer Haj-Yehya, was Executive Chairman of Bank Leumi Israel's largest. An Israeli Arab sits on Israel's Supreme Court. An Israeli Arab, Professor Hosam Haick, is Dean of Undergraduates at Technion Israel's top engineering school.
That's only possible in Israel. No Muslim society reaches that level of tolerance, inclusion and democracy.
