There once was a man who came to work every morning, had his coffee, chatted with his co-workers... then spent the rest of the day murdering people. Eight hours per day. Every day. For 25 years. He killed more people than most butchers kill pigs or cows. He killed more people than you will kill monsters in all your games combined.
This man's name was Vasily Mikhailovich Blokhin.
Vasily started his career as an unassuming soldier in the Russian Imperial army. His only exceptional qualities were his petty belligerence and his total disregard for human life. After Stalin came to power, he personally appointed Vasily to head the boringly named Kommandatura Branch of the Administrative Executive Department, a group in charge of what Stalin liked to call "the black work": assassination, torture, intimidation, and other vile deeds necessary to make a bright socialist future.
In 1926 Stalin appointed Vasily to be his chief executioner. In the following two and a half decades, Vasily personally shot thousands of people. Yes, comrades, you read it correctly: Thousands of people.
Vasily personally performed the majority of high profile executions during Stalin's reign. He shot two of his own NKVD bosses and never bat an eye. During the Katyn massacre, he murdered 7,000 people over a period of four weeks. On average, he killed 300 people every night, finishing each night in drunken revelry with his underlings. Say what you will about the man, he could drink just about anybody under the table.
After Stalin's death, Vasily was retired from his murderous position. He received a decent pension and all the medals and honors a man could ever want, but life lost its flavor for him. He started drinking heavily, moving from one black depression to the next, until finally shooting himself in 1955; it seems that the blackest killer in history just couldn't leave this world without adding one more name to his tally.
No tears for these types.
It’s describes the depths of human depravity
